Russia Agrees with Ukraine on Gas Price

It was reported that the Russian and Ukrainian officials said the two countries had reached consensus on winter gas price, which was a step forward in reaching gas supply agreement.
The agreement can allay the concerns that Russian gas supply might be interrupted to Europe via Ukraine because of conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine's President, said in a TV interview last weekend that Ukraine agreed to pay the price of at about 385 dollars per 1, 000 cubic meters and buy natural gas from Russia by the end of March in the heating season.
Yatsenyuk, Ukraine's prime minister, said on 19th of October that it was too early to say that the two countries now have reached the gas supply agreement. Only if Gazprom and Ukraine's Gas Company officially sign the contract and Ukraine receives gas transported from Russia, then, the gas agreement has done.
Polo said that reaching the agreement still faces obstacles. Russian, Ukrainian and European Union officials meeting will be held on 22nd of October, trying to come to an agreement with the final terms. He said that Ukraine was in a deep recession, lacking of enough money to buy natural gas from Russia. Therefore, Ukraine was to seek help for International Monetary Fund.
Vladimir Putin, Russian President who attended the Asia-Europe Summit from 16th to 17th of October said that Russia urged Ukraine to repay the debt. He wanted that EU (European Union) could help to solve the problem of Ukraine funds shortage.
The Ukrainian government officials said that the EU would hold the meeting of reconstructing Ukraine donor country and investment country at the end of January 2015 in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.
Ukraine previously requested that EU could provide support for two billion euros. European Union allocated 100 million euros in May and another 500 million euros in June. The two sides are talking about affairs about another one billion euro loan.
